Downtown North St. Paul SNOW CARVING EVENT. The public is welcome and encouraged to come and watch the carvers in action! If you need a warm up while you are in town, there are several local businesses that will have free hot cider or hot chocolate in their stores for your enjoyment. The blocks of snow will be located along Seventh Avenue between First Street and Highway 120. ***Carvers Needed*** Carvers are needed for the Snow Carving Competition. Both groups and individuals are welcome to participate in this judged event. Prizes will be awarded to the top three sculptors. For more information on staking your claim to some snow carving real estate, contact Jan at 651-485-5920. The judging will be held on Monday, Feburary 11th and the winners will be announced on Friday evening at the Snow Frolics Fling to be held at the American Legion Post #39. ACTIVITIES AND FUN FOR THE FAMILY ON FEBRUARY 9 JOIN US AT THE NORTH SAINT PAUL COMMUNITY CENTER from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for some great "indoor" fun! There will be games, face painting and tattoos, spin art and more. The Arts Council of North Saint Paul will be on hand to help anyone who would like to make a kaleidoscope. There will be both a coloring contest and a soap carving contest. We're also excited to have Mystik Toyz on hand to do some storytelling, interactive play and a juggling workshop! There will be gift bags for the first 50 kids. This year the treat bags are sponsored by The Arts Council of North St. Paul, The Environmental Advisory Commission, Hometown Creamery, La' Garage and Gallery, SCAVENGER HUNT. You can pick up your Scavenger Hunt sheets at the North St. Paul Community Center any time after 1:00 am. Rules are on the back side of the sheet. Items listed will be found in the front windows of businesses along the Avenue. The deadline for completed lists to be turned in at the North St. Paul Community Center is 3:00 pm. The Grand Prize will be awarded at 4:00 pm at the Community Center. Many of the North Saint Paul businesses will be offering special "Snow Frolic" deals that you won't want to miss. They require that you be wearing your button, so be sure to purchase your button early. If you don't have a button you can purchase them at the following locations: American Legion Post #39, City Hall, The North Saint Paul Community Center, La' Garage and Gallery, One Sweet World, Roddy's Bar, Luther Auctions, and the Holiday Station on Margaret.
